Yes, the season is here to come together as a church family to participate in Operation Christmas Child, a ministry that spreads love, joy, and the gospel message to unreached children all over the world. The impact of this simple act of kindness cannot be underestimated – it has the power to transform lives and create lasting memories. 500 Shoeboxes, 500 OpportunitiesThis year, our goal is to pack 500 shoeboxes filled with gifts, essentials, and the message of hope. Each shoebox is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the life of a child who might never have experienced the joy of receiving a gift before. These shoeboxes carry with them the love of our church family and the love of Christ, touching hearts and spreading smiles to the farthest corners of the globe. Shoeboxes Ready to Be Filled Are you wondering where to get the shoeboxes? No worries! Expect the shoeboxes to arrive in October, ready for you to pack. You can also use your own adult-sized shoebox if you prefer. Let your creativity shine as you decorate and fill the box with items that will brighten a child's day. Sponsor a Box for $45 The cost to ship a shoebox is just $10 – a small investment that results in a priceless impact. While the shipping cost is separate, it's essential to consider the value of the contents inside. Most shoeboxes fill for about $35, ensuring that each child receives a thoughtful and meaningful assortment of gifts. Important Dates to Remember Mark your calendars! Items need to be returned by October 22nd to ensure timely shipping. And don't miss out on the exciting packing party scheduled for November 11th from 8 am to noon. It's an opportunity to come together as a community, share laughter and stories, and pack the shoeboxes. Reaching the Ends of the Earth Last year, our Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes brought joy to children in the Philippines and Haiti. The impact of these simple gifts is far-reaching, and you can even track your shoebox online to see where it ends up. Spreading the Gospel The heart of Operation Christmas Child lies not just in the gifts, but also in the gospel message. While you can include a Bible in the shoebox, it's important to note that children will also receive a Bible in their own language through the Great Journey discipleship course.

GET THE FLYERS AND REGISTER HEREBefore I tell you all about Summer Camp, I want to tell you an allegorical story. Many of you may have heard this story before as it is told by Starfish Ministries quite often. The story is this:
There once was a boy on a beach who was tirelessly throwing starfish into the ocean, as the waves crashed on the beach thousands upon thousands were being washed onto the shore while he was throwing one at a time back into the ocean. A man walked up to the kid and asked him why he was throwing them back when it doesn't matter because thousands were being washed onto the shore. The boy picked up a single starfish and looked at the man and as he tossed it into the ocean said, "it matters to this one." Now my prayer going into camp and the success was tied up in the thought "If I save one student all of it will be worth it." But God was still teaching me something through all of this. I do not save anyone; I plant the seed of the Gospel and God does the saving. God was still teaching me this however, so when camp ended, and we had 1 Rededication and 0 Salvations after a week that I thought had gone tremendously well I was confused at what had gone wrong. Did I not say things right? Did I not give the students a good opportunity? What was wrong? But God was still working, Isaiah 55 tells us that when the Gospel goes out it does not return empty or void. On Sunday one of my students was given the beautiful opportunity to lead his friend who came Summer Camp to Christ. God never stopped working, he never does, and he never will. Summer camp planted the seed, and a student was given the blessing of the harvest. So, summer camp was a huge success. Seeds were planted, lives were rededicated, a starfish was thrown back into the sea. What else does God have planned? How else is he working in the hearts of those who heard the Gospel at Summer Camp. Church, I need something from you. As God works on the Hearts of these students they need to be plugged in, they need discipleship, they need prayer. So, I ask you to continue praying for the Hearts of these students, continue to pray for boldness for the ones who will lead their friends to Christ, and be willing to come along new believers through discipleship and service. Last week's Vacation Bible School (VBS) was an incredibly blessed and heartwarming experience for Grace Church. Witnessing 108 people come together, using their time, talents, and treasure to bring kids closer to Christ was truly inspiring. It was a testament to the power of love within our church body.
Reflecting on the VBS week, I can't help but marvel at the unity we displayed and the impact we made on the children's lives. We embodied the spirit of Colossians 3:23-24, wholeheartedly dedicating ourselves to our work as if serving the Lord directly, knowing that we will be rewarded by Him. If we could maintain this mindset in every ministry we undertake, just imagine the reach we could have in our community. Each aspect of VBS was handled with great care and enthusiasm. The Bible Adventure room, led by our station leaders, brought the true stories of the Bible to life, captivating our youth and crews. In the Missions room, the team passionately shared about missionaries and the message of salvation throughout the week. The games were a highlight, as the team went above and beyond to create a fun and enjoyable experience for the kids while staying committed to the Lord's mission. Snack time not only provided refreshments but also became a space for kids to pray and play with one another. The Imagination station was filled with skits, information, verse readings, and engaging gizmos, making it a memorable part of the VBS program. And the Opening and Closing sessions set the stage for the entire day, showcasing the wonderful work God was doing in the hearts of our children. It was truly awe-inspiring to witness how the kids wholeheartedly embraced the transformative message we shared with them. None of this would have been possible without the dedicated brothers and sisters in Christ who stepped up as crew leaders, station leaders, administrators, and media personnel during VBS week. You were not just fulfilling your roles; you were ambassadors for the Lord. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of VBS and to all those who supported and encouraged one another. Together, we furthered the Gospel, and our love and dedication made a significant difference in the lives of the children we served. May God continue to bless each one of you abundantly. - Melissa Who doesn't love the feeling of playing in their garden during the summer? The satisfaction of tilling the soil, nurturing plants, and reaping the rewards of a bountiful harvest brings immense joy! As gardeners, we often find ourselves with an overabundance of fresh vegetables, wondering what to do with them. Well, here's some exciting news for all garden enthusiasts: Grace Church has a Green Thumb Ministry that offers a wonderful opportunity to share your garden's bounty with others in need.
Sharing the Fruits of Your Labor: Grace Church's Green Thumb Ministry provides a platform for gardeners to contribute their surplus vegetables and fruits to support fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Whether you have an excess of tomatoes, bell peppers, or any other homegrown produce, this ministry welcomes your contributions. It's heartwarming to know that by sharing your garden's abundance, you are blessing others with the literal "fruits" of your labor. Sharing your garden harvest extends beyond the simple act of giving. It's an opportunity to support members of our church who may be on a fixed income or unable to maintain a garden. The Green Thumb Ministry allows these individuals to enjoy homegrown freshness and nutritional benefits without the burden of growing it themselves. Imagine the smiles and gratitude of those who receive these garden treasures on Sunday mornings! The simple act of sharing your excess can brighten someone's day and bring joy to their table. A basket of freshly picked vegetables can nourish bodies, strengthen relationships, and foster a sense of family within the church. We encourage you to bring your items and place them on the stairs or front areas of the church Sunday Mornings. It is worth noting. While it's tempting to grab as many delicious fruits and vegetables as possible, it's important to remember the principle of moderation. When you see an abundance of peaches or any other produce, be mindful of leaving enough for others to enjoy. Instead of taking the lion's share, consider taking a reasonable portion that will still allow others to experience the pleasure of tasting nature's gifts. Gardening is a delightful activity that brings immense joy and satisfaction. By participating in Grace Church's Green Thumb Ministry, you can extend that joy beyond your garden and bless others. We look forward to seeing all your fruits and veggies soon! --Warmly, Melissa Children's Ministry Director (707) 279-8448 Ext 15, or cell: (707) 272-1126 (I Love text messages!)
