What's New At Grace

Special Encouragement For Mother's Day

5/5/2021

Picture
Here at Grace Church we love our moms.  We love seeing you faithfully unpack your army of well-dressed kids out of the car each Sunday.  We love watching you hang on to the ones who ought not get away from you and enjoy watching those that are old enough to run or walk to their classrooms for Sunday School.  We love watching the way you lead them while you worship in service, fervently take notes and respond when God’s Word is opened. We love watching the way you dream with them as you make plans for their future.  We even love the way you train them up through discipline when the excitement of church can get out of hand at times.  We want you to feel noticed, appreciated and cared for by your church body.

Being a mom is hard.  We see numerous times in scripture where the task of motherhood came with great sacrifice and much hardship.  We see the hardship you are experiencing in raising kids. We see the struggle that many are having to create a family but that opportunity does not come easy. We see the struggle in a mama’s heart when her kin drift from the ways she has raised them to go.  BEING A MOM IS HARD, BUT GOD IS NOT ABSENT.

God is not absent in your struggle and there is great reward for the faithful. God is not absent in your desire or in your effort to love those God has entrusted you with.  Being a mom is so much more than a biological formality.  Being a mom is a choice that each woman will make to love those that God has placed in her life.

On behalf of our church, I want to THANK YOU for taking on the task of discipleship. Forgive us for allowing the world to minimize your effort with the title of Mom.  You are so much more than a mom. You are a servant of God who is a personal trainer of the next generation.  For this we are grateful.

On Sunday we are going to be praying over you and your mission field of trainees.  Will you join us as we aim to empower you to be a faithful servant of the lord with the title: Mom?

In Him,
Pastor Paul
