What's New At Grace
I spend time on Mondays and Tuesdays walking around our Church Campus, grabbing next week's Sunday school crafts, and maybe taking down a game from Jr church or setting up tables for Tuesday Awana. It's a time when I can let my mind wander and reflect on how good our God is and how the gospel has been moving forward massively with our little ones. For example, I had a preschooler this past Sunday tell me how he accepted Christ in his heart the night before (oh be still my heart!).
I also had the joy of watching children sit in a circle during Jr Church with one person in the middle, where kids called out what the child was good at. The leader took sticky notes and wrote these things down and stuck them on the child's forehead, nose, chin, etc. With the kids giggling and uplifting each other, one boy sat in the middle; the world would call him awkward, but one of the little girls hollered out, "he's handsome." I watched that young boy sit a little taller in his chair, his face changing into a huge smile. I was so proud of that little girl who made his day!
So it's with a full heart as I gear up for Easter for our kids! They've learned there was a Donkey that Jesus rode on as the crowd laid down palm leaves, and this week we are prepping for the Easter Joy, the story of how He has risen!
And while we will be reinforcing that true Bible story on Easter Sunday as well we will be adding some fun and joy to our kids with an Egg Hunt between services. So if you bring family or friends this Easter, remind them to arrive at 10:20 am. Shortly thereafter is when we'll start the Egg Hunt. And IT GOES FAST! It's for toddlers and kids up to 2nd grade, and will end with a small clean-up crew of our Sunday school students of 3rd-5th graders. So please join us in the playground area. We will also serve our Coffee and Snacks there so that everyone can enjoy the fun.
