What's New At Grace
It's hard to fathom that the first text message was sent on December 3rd, 1992, over 30 years ago. The communication landscape has changed drastically, from a few text messages a month to over 98% of cell phone users utilizing this feature. Text messages have become more than just a way to text with friends; they also let us receive updates and alerts, keep track of our finances, send an email, and much more.
So it is with excitement that I share that Grace Church is adopting a text messaging system! You'll like its benefits of keeping you informed on essential events, helping with sign-up and ministry volunteer reminders, and escaping the dreaded group text.
This week at Church we will ask you to text "Join" or "Connect." By texting our system number, you'll be helping our staff to connect with you, learn your needs, and set aside critical times for your growth in the Lord. First, we will ask for your name and email, but don't worry; we promise not to sell it to a 3rd party! It may look something like the messages to the right.
It's as simple as that. Lastly, I'll let you in on a little secret. You see, Bobbie Bridges texts me routinely and even adds cute emojis. I think if Bobbie can do it, well, so can you!
See you Sunday.
