What's New At Grace

My Kids Call Him Mr. Bill

10/3/2022

My kids call him Mr. Bill, but you may know him as Bill Chapman, Mr. Bill, Dr. Diggingstone or __________.  Bill wears a lot of hats here at the church and is a great servant to many different ministries here at Grace Church.  You will find him in the kitchen helping to prepare and serve drinks and treats in between our services.  You can find him in the gym playing with kids during Children’s Church on Sunday morning or in the Sanctuary on a Tuesday night building Legos, coloring a coloring page, playing a game or even teaching a lesson.  My kids love Mr. Bill and I do too!

The church is filled with lots of Mr. Bill’s and I just wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the areas he serves while also thanking him and the many others who love well on our campus each week.  Even the ones that we will never see serve because they come early or stay late.  I am sure at one of the rehearsals for the Vacation Bible School drama sketch, Mr. Bill would have preferred to be at home with his feet up relaxing but instead he was serving the Lord.  I am sure it is the same situation for the many that serve in different ways at church.  Our goal in these servant blog posts to highlight some areas of service and appreciate those who serve. This week it was Mr. Bill that helped to bring our hearts to that of gratitude for those who serve.

Here is the reminder from the book of Colossians. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. Colossians 3:23. It is so easy to think that our serving is for men and for those that are literally receiving the gift of our service.  Let me reminded that the Lord is the one that we work for.  He is worthy, He has served us first, and approval of men is not what we seek when we serve.

A huge thanks to all those who serve the Lord!

-Pastor Paul
