What's New At Grace

Men's Retreat

9/15/2021

We had a great group of men travel to the coast (Albion) this year to worship God unhindered, proclaim God’s Word unashamed, and support each other with unconditional love.

1 Timothy 2:8 I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling

The “MENtorship” theme challenged us to admit our dependency on God, on others, and acknowledge the churches dependency on us. If we are truly worshiping God with our entire heart, soul, mind, and spirit, then we will understand God’s purposeful design for our lives. Men need other men for accountability, encouragement, and training.
God identifies His Church as one who knows Him intimately through prayer. Men must lead by example to pray over others and the needs within the Church with faithful expectancy in God’s power. Prayer can no longer be put to the side when life gets busy but instead must be prioritized for what it is. A conversation with the Almighty God who controls all life. It is only by His loving grace that we are able to bring our worries, fears, and anxieties to Him.

James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

Not only do we pray to the God who saves, but we must also confess our sins to one another, restore each other in a spirit of gentleness, and teach each other to put off our sin. Whether we call it mentorship or discipleship, the fact is that we need to be involved in each other’s lives. We can not live isolated. Because when we are isolated, we are vulnerable to Satan’s attacks and we leave our brothers defenseless.

  • Is God your one true love?
  • Are you identified as completely His?
  • Do you esteem His Word and seek to obey His commands?
  • Are you filling up in God’s love and is it overflowing from your life into others?

Let us  love our enemies, do good to those who hate us, bless those who curse us, and pray for those that abuse us. So that when God turns His gaze on Grace Church in Kelseyville, He will declare it to be His Church.

John 4:23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
