 There are only four more weeks until...(drum roll, please) Drive-In Movie Nights!!! Let me explain if you need to learn about this particular night: Drive-In Movie night is when our Awana Sparky and Cubbies clubbers bring their transformed cardboard boxes they made into cars! Whether decorated with bling or tricked out, they then sit and watch a movie on the big screen while eating popcorn. This night was a new concept to me when I became the director a couple of years back. One clubber's dad asked me, "Do you want me to save this refrigerator box?" When I replied, "Why?" I noticed the look of shock on his face. It quickly became apparent I needed to learn a thing or two. My feeble attempt at a boxcar last year didn't compare to the exceedingly creative parents of our Sparks. This year Bill and I were determined to go all out! We jumped on Pinterest and began looking for ideas of what we could do. Finally, we were ready after a trip to Home Depot, Dollar Tree & Michaels! Bill decided to make a Taco Truck while I went full girl with a Unicorn Car. So two weekends, three boxes, one incredibly messy Granny Unit, paint and glue still on us, we did it! Let me say it was a blast. I can't wait to see what you and your kids will make this year! Reminder Sparky Drive-In Movie night is Feb 21st, and Cubbies is Feb 28th.
