This year at Rainforest Falls VBS was absolutely fantastic! From the moment the kids stepped onto the grassy fields filled with bounce houses and water games, it was clear that we were in for an unforgettable experience. Each day brought its own theme, guiding our young adventurers through the wonders of God’s love and presence in their lives.
Day 1: God is Our Creator
We kicked things off by celebrating the incredible creativity of God. Kids engaged in fun activities that highlighted the beauty of creation, reminding them that they are beautifully made and cherished by their Creator.
Day 2: God Knows Everything
On the second day, the theme shifted to the omniscience of God. Through interactive Bible lessons, kids discovered that there’s nothing too big or small for God to know about their lives. The excitement in the Bible Adventure Room was palpable as Bible characters came to life, making the stories all the more relatable and engaging.
Day 3: God is Our Safe Place
Midweek, we focused on the comforting truth that God is our safe place. With games and discussions, children learned that they can always turn to Him in times of trouble or fear, fostering a sense of security and trust.
Day 4: God is Love
As we approached the end of our week, we emphasized the foundational message of God’s love. This day was particularly special as we had Doug Del Bosco dress as Jesus, coming before the kids in a truly impactful moment that left a lasting impression. Through crafts and group activities, kids not only learned about love but also how to express it to others. The joy on their faces was a testament to the impact of this lesson.
Day 5: God is Forever
We wrapped up our week by celebrating the everlasting nature of God. The children were encouraged to reflect on the commitment they can make to follow Him for a lifetime.
The Sticky Scripture Room led by Danielle and Jonathan Bridges was a hit, with kids enthusiastically learning verses and earning prizes for their efforts. The Skit team added extra excitement, handing out In-N-Out gift cards for free hamburgers, making memorization all the more rewarding.
With over 169 kids participating and 15 children raising their hands to accept Christ for salvation, we witnessed the real impact of our efforts—this is why we do what we do! Special thanks to our amazing snack crew who provided nutritious delights like fresh fruit and fun treats like chocolate-covered bananas. Mike and Shannon, along with Ken and Kim, managed the café perfectly, making sure our over 100 volunteers were well-fed each night. A huge thank you to Pastor Brent and Pastor Paul for their invaluable support in feeding our volunteers as well!
We also aimed to raise funds for the Haven of Hope in India, and thanks to the kids’ enthusiasm for getting their leaders slimed, we raised an incredible $2,000! Each night featured a special sliming event, with Pastor Josh and members of the Skit team joining in the fun, much to the kids’ delight.
Overall, VBS 2026 was a beautiful manifestation of God’s presence, reminding us all that He is in charge, our Creator, our safe place, and a love that lasts forever. A heartfelt thank you to Grace Church for the collective effort—this event would not have been possible without the overwhelming support from our volunteers and community. Let’s continue to spread the joy and love of God as we look forward to next year’s VBS adventure!
