Did you know that October is Pastor Appreciation Month? It is! We asked Pastor Paul how we can best bless him, Pastor Brent and Pastor Josh, and also other church servants. Here’s what he said:
We are most blessed when we see our effort to bring you to spiritual maturity working.
-Our job/calling is to equip believers for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4)
-When we see our calling effectively working, we are encouraged to continue walking in it.
-So sing praises, give generously, love well, encourage others, share what you are learning, be a good student, be a peacemaker, evangelize, walk in obedience. All of these things bless us.
Blessing our families is blessing us.
-When you encourage, notice, and care for our spouses and our kids, you bless us.
-We love our families and we do our best to not let our jobs negatively impact our homes and relationships with kids. The evening phone calls and meetings are a stress on our families. You can bless us by honoring our time.
-A gift for our families blesses us. My family received a gift card to a local frozen yogurt establishment and it was so fun to take my family to cash that in and tell them that is was someone from the church that blessed us with this fun family moment.
Your prayers are important to us.
-When we share something that is going on in our lives and we know that you are praying for us, that is such an encouragement.
-We are often the ones praying for the needs of others, so knowing that others are praying for us, means so much.
Your encouragement and kind words are a blessing.
-One of the ways we know that our ministry is effective is because people care enough to share the impact it is having on them. We hear so many critical thoughts, and ministry can often have a pastor dealing with many challenging situations. When we hear about some of the fruit of our labor, it fills our cups.
-Some of you are card writers. When you send us a quick note to encourage us, it is often timely and helps to keep us fighting the good fight and running the good race.
Alright church- now you know! Let’s bless them extravagantly this month especially!
