The needs in Lake County are great, and the challenges our community faces are unique. With a poverty rate higher than the national average, many people in our area struggle to meet basic needs on a daily basis. At Grace Church, we feel called to help address these hardships, especially through our Open Arms ministry, which reaches out to the homeless and those in need each week in Lucerne.
Through this ministry, our church, in partnership with others, provides essential items like food and clothing to those who need them the most. Every week, we serve meals that include hotdogs, chips, and water, but we know the need is much greater than what we’re currently offering. That’s why we want to enhance the food we provide, and this is where we need your help.
We are asking for donations of non-perishable items that can provide a full meal for someone in need. Items such as meals in a can, macaroni and cheese, cereal, and non-perishable milk would be a great blessing. We ask that when you donate, you consider giving food that can truly help sustain a person rather than simply cleaning out your pantry of unwanted items. Our mission at Grace Church goes beyond just meeting physical needs. We believe that through showing love and care to our community, we gain the opportunity to share the hope and truth of Jesus Christ. Every meal we serve is not just food, it’s a chance to connect with people and share the Gospel. We believe that offering a helping hand opens doors to offer hope in Christ.
