Is the Honeymoon over?

Jun 16, 2026

Remember the early days? The butterflies in your stomach, the hours spent talking about everything and nothing, and the unspoken certainty that your love story would be completely effortless. You cruised into marriage on the high of the honeymoon.

But then, real life settles in. The alarm goes off at 6:00 AM. Bills arrive in the mail. Piles of laundry accumulate, schedules clash, and the exhausting routine of everyday responsibilities takes over. Somewhere between navigating career steps, managing a household, or raising kids, you look across the dinner table and realize that the effortless drift has become, well, quite a bit of work. You might find yourself wondering: Is this what marriage looks like?

If we are honest, every single marriage hits this crossroad. The initial thrill naturally transitions into the deep, sometimes messy reality of daily commitment. But the end of the honeymoon stage doesn’t mean the end of romance, it’s actually an invitation to build something far more durable and beautiful.

Whether you are looking to Start, Sustain, or Strengthen your marriage, this 8-week class is for you.

Starting this August, we are starting an 8-week marriage class centered around Timothy and Kathy Keller’s book, The Meaning of Marriage. This study is intentionally crafted to meet you exactly where you are in your relationship:

  • Looking to Start? If you are engaged, newly married, or contemplating the next step, you will lay a rock-solid, Gospel-centered foundation before the storms of life arrive.
  • Looking to Sustain? If you feel like you are just getting by, coasting on autopilot, or surviving a demanding season, you will find practical tools and biblical wisdom to refresh your daily connection.
  • Looking to Strengthen? If you are struggling and want deeper intimacy, better communication, and a more vibrant spiritual partnership, this class will help you take your marriage to the next level.

Together, we will peel back the myths surrounding romance and look at the wisdom of God to discover how commitment, sacrifice, and grace can transform a good relationship into a magnificent one. Don’t drift through another season, invest in the most important human relationship you have!
