It’s hard to believe, but we are thrilled to announce our 4th Annual Christmas Toy Giveaway at Grace Church!
What started as a simple idea to bless our community has grown into one of the most powerful and exciting outreach events of our year, although the Trunk or Treat was pretty cool! Each Christmas, we have seen more and more families come to our campus to celebrate with us. Last year alone, we were blessed to welcome over 2,000 people!
This event is so much more than a line for a toy. It is a full Christmas experience. And it’s all happening again on Saturday, December 6th.
What is the Toy Giveaway like?
From the moment a family arrives, our goal is to show them the love of Christ.
While they wait, families can enjoy:
- Hot chocolate
- Cookies, candy canes, and treats
- A fun photo area to capture a family memory
- Christmas characters (like reindeer, snowmen, and a gingerbread man!) walking around, taking pictures with children.
But the most important part happens in the line. This is where our amazing volunteers get to connect with our visitors. We walk up and down the line, getting to know our guests, learning their stories, and inviting them to be part of our church family. We love telling them about our children’s groups like AWANA, our REFUGE youth program, Celebrate Recovery, and, of course, our Sunday services.
A Personal Connection
When a family reaches the sanctuary, they are guided, one family at a time, to receive a gift from the church for their child. This personal, unhurried moment is the heart of the entire event.
It gives us time to connect, face-to-face, and share the true REASON for the season. We share the hope we have in Jesus and why we celebrate Christmas.
As families leave, The Gideons are typically on-site to offer them a Bible. By the time a person leaves our campus, our hope is that they have felt seen, loved, and personally connected. Our prayer is that they leave with a gift, a Bible, a personal invitation to church, and the knowledge that they have heard the simple, life-changing gospel.
