Widow Ministry

Widow & Widower Care Ministry

Walking through the loss of a spouse is one of life’s deepest trials, but you do not have to walk it alone. Our church family is here to surround you with love, dignity, and practical help.

Spiritual & Emotional Care

True healing begins at the feet of Jesus. As you grow closer to God and remember your identity as His cherished image-bearer, He restores peace, purpose, and contentment.

  • Pastoral Counseling: Private pastoral care and guidance with our Pastoral staff.

  • GriefShare Support Group: A safe, Christ-centered group walking through the grief recovery journey together.

  • One-on-One Encouragement: Personal spiritual support and mentorship with our ministry leadership.

Relational Connection

Losing a spouse can leave an immense void, but you are not forgotten. Whether you have strong family support nearby, are managing largely on your own, or are somewhere in between, we want you to feel fully loved, connected, and embraced as a valued part of our church community.

Practical & Home Assistance

When day-to-day chores or physical tasks become overwhelming, over church volunteers are ready to lend a hand:

  • Home Maintenance & Yard Work: Light repairs and seasonal upkeep.

  • House Cleaning: Assistance with regular household chores.

  • Rides & Transportation: Reliable transportation to Sunday services, church events, medical appointments, and the grocery store.

  • Companionship Visits: Friendly visits to bring encouragement, prayer, and fellowship.

How practical help works: Contact Shery Loewen, our care intake coordinator. Shery will assess your specific needs and connect you with a volunteer best suited to assist. (Practical projects are coordinated alongside Matt Lockwood).

Financial Stewardship & Guidance

Navigating finances after the loss of a spouse can be daunting. We offer trusted, confidential support to help you safeguard your resources:

  • Budgeting & Asset Protection: Confidential planning and stewardship support.

  • Community & Government Benefits: Guidance from volunteers to help identify and access state and local assistance programs.
