Pamplin Grove
|
Things to Know:
- People of all ages come to church camp!
- Pamplin Grove is just over 3 hours north on the 101 from the church.
- Things to bring:
- Shelter (tent, fifth-wheel, or RV).
- Food, beverages, and supplies to cook your food. Barbeque pits available at sites.
- This is a "dry camp". Adult beverages should not be consumed in the campground.
- Quarters for coin operated shower (about 1 mile down the road at Swimmers Delight Campground).
- Warm clothing for night, sleeping bag, swim suit, and towels. Water shoes are also a good idea to get yourself to and from the creek.
- Sunscreen, bug spray, and a bottle of Tecnu (in case you touch poison oak).
- If you can, bring up some fire wood. We will have a community pile and every little bit helps.
- This is a dog friendly park. Please keep dogs away from camp host (Leslie) and do not bring any other type of animals.
- Other things to know:
- There is no cell reception at the campground.
- There is no plumbing for bathrooms. Camp latrines and port-a-potties are on site for our use.
- There are several water faucets around the park and the cook shack has a sink and faucets with running water to help rinse dishes.
- There is no electricity at the camp. However the church will have a generator at the cookshack. Feel free to bring a personal generator if you feel you need more power.
- There is no cell reception at the campground.
- Parents:
- You are responsible for your children. Please do not let your kids have access to pocket knives at camp. If children/teenagers are in their own tents, they are to be in a camping spot with other adults.
- Things to do there:
- Volleyball, horseshoes, Swimming in the creek, Board and Card Games (bring a few to play), bring a bike to ride around, Day Trips to Ferndale/Eureka/Samoa Cookhouse, whiffle ball, nighttime capture the flag, daily worship and teaching, and enjoying time out in the great outdoors.
- Bring enough food to have people over for dinner or coordinate with others to eat together. Need groceries while you are there? Pick them up in Fortuna which is only 15 minutes away (Safeway, Rite Aid, Grocery Outlet, Hardware Stores, etc.).
- If you need any of the basic camping equipment, please contact Pastor Brent to see what we can get together for you.
